OneShirt for life was born from a conviction that getting dressed each day didn’t have to be struggle with compromise, comfort and functionality.
It was a simple step from a capsule wardrobe challenge to the search for a simple solution to my main complaint, where are the pockets?
Each day I am aware of the desire to embody my values. Being fortunate to live and work in a place where my life-long interest in textiles can take on a manifest form, I can embody my desire to innovate, to be sustainable and to continually create.
It started with scraps and it is fed with scraps. Each Oneshirt is built off of the leavings of the previous shirt, either in form, function or fidelity to a vision. The first shirt was spun off from a pattern I purchased in Liberty’s of London. The evolution continues.
It has been more than 6 years since I started the Oneshirt journey and I feel I am just getting started. The next phase in the project is to document my experience so that I can share it further.
“I was tired of clothes that didn’t work for me. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my solution could last for years.”
